First Visit
Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Occasionally, surgery can be performed the same day as the consultation, however; a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment for treatment.
During the consultation, please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medications (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Your surgical referral slip from your referring dental or medical practitioner and any x-rays if applicable. If additional information is needed, the office staff will ask for this at the time your appointment is scheduled.
- A list of all medications you are presently taking.
- If you have medical or dental insurance, please bring your insurance card to your appointment.
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian during each visit.
A preoperative consultation and physical examination is mandatory for patients undergoing IV anesthesia for surgery. For all surgery patients undergoing any form of sedation, have nothing to eat or drink six (6) hours prior to your surgery. You will also need a responsible adult to remain in the office during your procedure and then to drive you home.
Dr. Tull is on staff at several Johnson County hospitals: St. Lukes South, Overland Park Regional Medical Center, and Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
X-Rays
If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office or you may pick them up and bring them to your appointment. If additional films are necessary, they will be taken at our facility.
